The Spangdahlem Library offers over 25,000 books and movies for the entire Spangdahlem community including: Best Sellers, CLEP & DANTES study materials, Young Adult Fiction, Children’s Books, Audio Books and more! In addition to our collection of books and movies, we offer programs every month for children, teens and adults. Our mission is to provide access to information that is essential to the Air Force Mission, while providing services and activities that enhance the quality of life for patrons at Spangdahlem Air Base.
Meets Wednesdays at 2PM; kids build, learn, explore and create using science and art; hands-on activities engage critical thinking skills and creativity; requires registration due to popularity (limited to 15 children each week).
Currently meets 2nd and 4th Thursday each month at 3:30PM; allows teens to gather and socialize while exercising their creativity; activities include fandom parties (e.g., Harry Potter and Star Wars), writing games, trivia, board games, and more.
Primarily attended by kids; meets last Tuesday each month at 3PM; building challenges using library LEGOs may be theme-based or free-form; results may be displayed in library.
18+ years: held on last Wednesday each month at 12:30PM; library staff facilitate discussion of selected Book Club titles.
For children 0-5 years old
Theme-based sessions presented Mondays and Thursdays (with craft) at 10:30AM; presenter reads 2-4 books with songs, rhymes, dance, and other activities interspersed; early literacy emphasized.
18+ years: held on 2nd Wednesday each month at 10:00AM; recent projects have included wood-burning, macramé necklaces, and DIY sugar scrubs.
